Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has always expressed her love for fashion from her “Wear Nigeria” crusade to her close friendship with Dior’s creative director of which Adichie invited her to the Wear Nigeria fashion show she put together last year.
The Dior Couture Show which held last night was attended by many A-listers including our very own, Chimamanda and she looked stunning. She wore a burnt orange aso-oke top from Nigeria fashion brand, The Lady Maker that had eccentric pointy sleeves reminiscent of the ’80s. She paired the look with a sheer maxi skirt with tribal print details and slingback heels from Dior. On the beauty side, she had on an architectural updo and wore deep pink lipstick to tie it all together.
Speaking to Vogue after the show, she said she found it incredibly moving especially with the feminist narratives still pushed on in Dior’s designs.
We love when Chimamanda gives us epic fashion looks.
