The Senegalese fashion band, Tongoro collaborated with writer and editor, Tamu McPherson on a capsule collection. The brand, which is one of Beyoncé’s favourite African brands is known for its use of exquisite patterns and flowy fabric to tell African stories.
The capsule collection with Tamu features pieces inspired by the tropics and designs range from tie-dye wide-leg pants to gowns. She took to her Instagram to express her excitement saying
“I’m honored and grateful to finally share my collaboration with @tongorostudio for the launch of the Tongoro CollabX Series. I met founder @dioufsarah many years ago in Paris, and I was immediately inspired by her brilliant, sweet energy. As I got to know her better, her resourcefulness would impress me time and time again, as would her determination and courage. I often ask myself is there anything that she can’t do, once she sets her intentions? She truly represents the new generation of young fashion entrepreneurs elevating the Made In Africa label. This capsule collection represents a union of our respective visions, energy, roots, memories and style passions. I hope you love it Xo, Tamu. “
