For all TV fans and series binge-watchers out there, the Emmy Awards is time to see if our beloved shows and actors got the recognition and accolades they deserve. The night saw casts from different television shows decked to the nines. The Game of Thrones cast who were together on the red carpet for the final time fighting for a chance to take home an award despite the mixed reactions from the last season.
The 2019 Emmys will be one for the books as the competition is not only tight in the award categories but also on the “purple carpet”.
From Billy Porter to Zendaya, these are our favourite looks from the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards.
Our Brienne of Tarth took a page from history in this look directly off the runway of Gucci 2020 Resort Collection. When in Rome they say, come with your best garb.
Strike a Pose! Billy Porter never fails to surprise and impress us on every red carpet. With the aims of breaking gender boundaries in fashion, he makes a statement once again. Decked out in Michael Kors couture, this crystal suit was topped off with the cowboy hat of our wildest dreams. This is an outfit to go down the Old Town Road in.
Zendaya- that’s it!
Looking amazing in a custom made Vera Wang gown, Zendaya gives off effortless Ariel from the Little Mermaid vibes with her red locks and green corset dress.
This look came as a surprise. We are used to seeing the model looking good she did not play it safe in this ensemble. Kendall Jenner gave us gothic-lady-who-loves-romantic-novels vibe in this Richard Quinn number. We are living for it.
Dress like the award you want to win. Niecy Nash got the memo in this custom Christian Siriano dress complete with a head wrap. Though she did not win an award, she is a winner in our books.
If we are being honest, this is one of Michelle William’s best looks. The impressive pattern on this Louis Vuitton gown was highlighted by the simple but remarkable cut of this gown. This is an astonishing look to win an award in.
The break-out star from This is Us gave us a Euphoria inspired red carpet look. From the shimmery metallic eyes to the lace crown, down to the tiered tulle Tadashi Shoji gown; we feel refreshed to see something out of the ordinary on the carpet.
Taraji P Henson
The red-pink combo was a big trend on the Emmy Carpet and Taraji was one of the few that nailed the trend. This custom Vera Wang gown was effortless in its movement and had a cape. Who does not want to be a colourful superhero for a few hours?
Mandy Moore’s vintage take on the red-pink combo was another version we loved from the night. It gave us old Hollywood vibes and we would want to sip some champagne in this beautiful Brandon Maxwell dress.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel sweetheart looked nothing like her character in this sexy blue sequined Elie Saab dress. Either way, she looked nothing but marvelous.
